In the heart of west Auckland’s thriving Hobsonville community, you’ll find an early childhood centre that feels like home. Each day, this architecturally-designed building is filled with love, laughter and the pitter patter of little feet. Calming white walls offer the ideal backdrop to vibrant pops of colour from the artwork, cosy couches and natural resources. Scents drift in from the kitchen where our chef, trained in Michelin-starred restaurants in London, creates food as nutritious as it is delicious. Babies start out in the Uri room – Māori for small seed – where, like a seed, they are loved and nurtured. Our tamariki’s journey comes to an end in the Kauri room and, just like the majestic tree, these children have become the biggest and oldest with deep-seated roots.
Rain or shine, children enjoy the generous outdoor area that spans the length of our centre. Complete with gardens, sandpits, a bike track and a mud kitchen, all our children play outside together, giving this space a special, family feel.
Everything we do is infused with joy. When we have fun, our children have fun, and a happy brain is a receptive brain. The children are at the heart of everything that we do. New Shoots Hobsonville is exciting, vibrant and constantly providing joyful moments for everyone who walks through our doors.
We have a generous professional development budget along with a dedicated provisionally registered mentor on site, available to all the teachers throughout the day.
